Savon de Planeta Organica is a new line of natural cosmetics produced by popular Russian brand Planeta Organica. It comprises personal care products for all skin and hair types. These products are based on certified soaps made according to traditional recipes such as African black soap, Castile soap, Marseille soap, Aleppo soap, etc. The line is made up of shampoos, hair conditioners, a foaming face cleanser, shower gels, and liquid soaps.

Savon de Planeta Organica is based on several traditional soap recipes from around the world that have been time tested for centuries. Each of these recipes is unique. For example, traditional Marseille soap (savon de Marseille) has been produced in France for about 600 years. It is made by mixing olive oil, sea water from the Mediterranean sea, sodium carbonate (soda ash), and potassium carbonate (lye). Aleppo soap (savon d’Alep) has been produced in Syria for no one knows how long. Its traditional ingredients are olive oil, lye and laurel oil. Laurel oil is the key ingredient that has pronounced antiseptic and soothing properties.

African black soap has originated in West Africa. It is made from shea butter and the ash of locally harvested African plants (palm tree leaves, plantain skins, shea tree bark, cocoa pods). It is the ash that gives the soap its characteristic colour. Castile soap has originated in the Castile region of Spain. It is made with olive oil and sodium hydroxide (bar soap) or potassium hydroxide (liquid soap). It is similar to Aleppo soap, except that it doesn’t contain laurel oil. Finally, traditional Siberian soap is infused with pine nut oil and sea buckthorn oil.

Most Savon de Planeta Organica products are formulated exclusively with plant ingredients*, which is confirmed by the Vegan Trademark, the world’s leading internationally recognized standard for vegan-friendly products introduced by the Vegan Society in 1990. This means that they are free of animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals. Planeta Organica’s vegan soaps are made from oils of vegetable origin rather then from animal fats.

The safety and natural origins of Savon de Planeta Organica cosmetics are also confirmed by an international certificate issued by ECOCERT, a French-based certification body that operates and offers its services in more than 120 countries. ECOCERT representatives personally attend production facilities in order to make sure that all ingredients and finished products comply with the certification body’s quality requirements.

Savon de Planeta Organica cosmetics are divided into several groups according to soaps they are based on: Savon de Marseille (Marseille soap), Savon de Provence (Provence soap), Savon de Alep (Aleppo soap), Savon de Castille (Castile soap), Savon Noir (African black soap), Savon de Siberia (Siberian soap), and Savon de Cleopatra (Egyptian soap with milk and honey). Traditional soap recipes have been enhanced with natural herbal extracts and essential oils. All products are free of parabens, artificial fragrances and colourants, SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), mineral oils, GMO and animal fats.
