Food grade linseed oil is produced by the Ukrainian brand Ekolux. The oil is obtained by a special technique which allows to preserve all the useful substances contained in flaxseed such as vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids (palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and alpha-linolenic acid). Can be used as a dietary supplement.
Nutrient content. Linseed oil is known for its high content of unsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6). Flaxseed oil contains 44% to 61% alpha-linolenic acid, 15% to 30% linoleic acid, and 13% to 29% oleic acid. The content of saturated fatty acids (mainly stearic acid and palmitic acid) varies between 9% and 11%. Linseed oil also contains tocopherols (vitamin E), folic acid, and lignans (phytoestrogens with antioxidant properties).
Effect. Systematic consumption of food-grade linseed oil increases vascular tone, lowers blood cholesterol and improves cerebral blood flow. This oil also helps to boost the immune system. Linseed oil can be consumed as an additional treatment for vascular diseases, ischemic heart disease, chronic inflammatory processes, and allergies.
Do not heat.
It is highly recommended to consult your physician before consuming flaxseed oil on a regular basis. The product is not a medication.
Precautions and contraindications. Individual intolerance or hypersensitivity, pregnancy, lactation, hepatitis, pancreatitis, cholelithiasis. Not recommended for children under the age of 12.
Dosage and administration. Adults and children 12 years of age or older: 1 teaspoon 2 times a day 30 minutes before meals for 15 to 30 days. Do not wash down with water. Can be added to cold dishes. Can be used externally as a cosmetic product.
