EOS (Evolution of Smooth) is a well-known cosmetic brand owned and produced by eos Products, LLC, an American company headquartered in New York. The brand produces lip balms, hand and body lotions, and shave creams.

eos Products, LLC was established in 2006 by Jonathan Teller. The first products released by the company, back then just another small startup, were lip balms in unusual spheric packaging.

According to an exclusive interview given to Fast Company by EOS co-founders in October 2016, they came up with the idea of rethinking the lip balm packaging when they learned that lip balms were mainly used by women who would often lose lip balm sticks and tubes in their handbags. Many consumers liked the idea of lip balms in small pots that were entering the market, but they thought that applying lip balm with their fingers was unhygienic.

So co-founders of eos Products set about creating a product that would be easy and enjoyable to apply. Round packaging seemed like a perfect solution: these soft spheres are hygienic and feel good in the hands. They are compact enough to not take up much space and big enough to not get lost in a handbag. And their bright colours and delicious flavours make EOS lib balms even more appealing.

Of course, packaging is not everything. What’s inside matters even more. EOS lip balms are formulated with organic ingredients (certified organic by the USDA and Oregon Tilth). They are free of gluten, petrolatum, parabens, paraffin and phthalates, hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, and cruelty-free. All EOS products contain high-quality natural ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil, herbal extracts and organic beeswax.
