Ukrainian beauty brand Cocos presents its Mandelic Peel with a 20% concentration of mandelic acid. This is an effective product for at-home superficial chemical peel treatments. It has a pH of 3.0 and is perfect for controlling sebum secretion in oily skin and treating acne.
The product’s key active ingredient is mandelic acid. It has a larger molecule size than most other acids used in chemical peel treatments, and therefore is less aggressive.
Mandelic peels are generally considered gentler than other types of chemical peel. As a result, they can be even used in summer, when the skin is especially vulnerable to UV radiation. However, you still need to use skincare products with SPF after a chemical peel treatment.
Mandelic Peel 20% (pH 3.0) is designed for oily and acne-prone skin. However, it is also suitable for teenage, ageing, and sensitive skin. It unclogs and tightens pores, reduces pigmentation, prevents both open comedones (blackheads) and closed comedones (pimples).
You can use this chemical peel to combat comedones, acne breakouts, acne scars, seborrhoeic dermatitis, folliculitis, excessive skin pigmentation (including freckles and age spots), dull and uneven complexion, sagging skin, bad circulation in the epidermis, enlarged pores, and fine lines.
Mandelic Peel 20% by Cocos has antiseptic, antioxidant, keratolytic (exfoliating), comedolytic, skin whitening and smoothing properties. It boosts collagen synthesis, produces an antioxidant effect, stimulates skin cell regeneration, and has an excellent exfoliating effect without irritating the skin.
Directions. Apply several drops of product to clean, dry skin with your fingertips, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave for several minutes, then apply chemical peel neutraliser and leave for 1 more minute. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Leave the peel for 1 minute during the first application, than add 1 minute during each subsequent procedure, but don’t leave the product on the skin for longer than 15 minutes in total. Use once a week for 2 or 3 months (10–12 procedures).
A light tingling or burning sensation during the procedure is a normal reaction to a chemical peel treatment, as well as red or flaky skin within 1–2 days after peeling. However, if you experience severe burning or other unpleasant symptoms, you should consult a dermatologist. To prevent allergic reactions, do a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area of the skin (for example, on your wrist or behind the ear) 24 hours before the first application.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation, shortly after tanning, or if you have couperose skin, herpes, bleeding disorders, diabetes mellitus. Do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin.
