Ascorbic acid can also be combined with sodium or magnesium to obtain stable forms of vitamin C – sodium ascorbyl phosphate or magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, respectively. Finally, ascorbic acid can be combined with glucose to obtain ascorbyl glucoside, another stable form of vitamin C, which preserves its properties at different pH levels and has a particularly gentle effect on the skin.
