Apricot kernel oil is produced by the Ukrainian brand Flora Secret. This vegetable oil is obtained from the seeds (kernels) of apricots, typically using the cold pressed method which is highly regarded as the extraction method of choice. Apricot kernel oil is widely used as a cosmetic product.
Composition (useful substances). Apricot kernel oil is rich in mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid, linolenic acid and oleic acid. It also contains vitamins A and C and minerals such as potassium and magnesium.
Properties and application. Pure apricot kernel oil can be used to soften and moisturise the skin, to speed up the exfoliation of dead epidermal cells, to improve complexion. It also has a rejuvenating effect. Apricot oil can also be added to oil compositions or cosmetic products. In this case, it helps to cope with irritation and inflammation, protects the skin against UV exposure and helps to preserve its elasticity.
Directions. Can be applied in pure form or added to oil compositions. Can also be used to dissolve essential oils or to enrich cosmetic products.
