100% Pure Edible Cocoa Butter is produced by the Ukrainian brand Aromatika. This oil is made in South Africa, it is extracted from the cocoa bean (dried and fully fermented seed of Theombroma cacao) by pressing. Unrefined. Does not contain preservatives or colourants. Can be used in cooking.
Cocoa butter, also known as theobroma oil, is solid at room temperature, it is pale-yellow and has a cocoa flavour and aroma. It melts just below human body temperature and becomes liquid and almost clear.
Composition (useful substances). Cocoa butter contains a high proportion of saturated fats such as arachidic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, myristic acid and lauric acid. It contains unsaturated fatty acids as well, namely linoleic acid, oleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid and palmitoleic acid. Due to its high high content of saturated fat and antioxidants, cocoa butter lasts long and is resistant to rancidification.
Cosmetic use. Cocoa butter has nourishing, moisturising, softening, protective, regenerative and toning properties. It protects the skin against UV rays and other harmful environmental factors (cold temperatures, harsh wind), prevents stretch marks and premature skin ageing. It is widely used as a daily moisturiser for dry, sensitive skin and to treat chapped lips.
Use in food. Cocoa butter has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, it gives your immune system a boost. Cocoa butter is a major ingredient in practically all types of chocolates and can be used to make chocolate at home.
