10% Glycolic Peel with a pronounced anti-age effect is produced by Cocos, a Ukraine-based brand of natural cosmetics and household chemicals. Thanks to affecting several layers of the epidermis, it deeply cleanses and rejuvenates mature skin.
As you may have guessed from the name, the key active ingredient of this peel is glycolic acid. Just like other alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), it is widely used in chemical peels. Due to its small molecule size, glycolic acid has a pronounced keratolytic effect (i.e. actively removes dead cells from the skin surface), dissolves excess sebum in skin pores, and enables active substances from other skincare products to penetrate deeper into the epidermis.
Glycolic Peel 10% (pH 3.5) by Cocos is perfect for those who’ve never used chemical peels before. Such a low concentration ensures very delicate skin cleansing and exfoliation, helping the skin to get used to the effect of AHAs. If your skin reacts well, you can switch to a higher concentration at some point in the future for a more intensive cleansing and rejuvenating effect.
The peel actively exfoliates and cleanses the skin, as well as stimulates its regeneration and renewal. Regular at-home chemical peels (once a week for two or three months) will make your skin incredibly soft and smooth, restore its natural elasticity and healthy glow, prevent the signs of premature ageing (fine lines, age spots, dryness, dull complexion) and make those you already have less visible.
Directions. Apply several drops of product to clean, dry skin with your fingertips, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave for several minutes, then apply chemical peel neutraliser and leave for 1 more minute. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Leave the peel for 1 minute during the first application, than add 1 minute during each subsequent procedure, but don’t leave the product on the skin longer than 15 minutes. Use once a week for 2 or 3 months (10–12 procedures).
A light tingling or burning sensation during the procedure is a normal reaction to chemical peel, as well as red skin or flaking within 1–2 days after peeling. However, if you experience severe burning or other unpleasant symptoms, you should consult a doctor. To prevent allergic reactions, do a patch test on a small area of the skin (for example, on your wrist or behind the ear) 24 hours before the first application.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation, shortly after tanning, or if you have couperose skin, herpes, bleeding disorders, diabetes mellitus. Do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin.
