Shea (karite) butter is obtained from the nut of the shea tree native to West and Central Africa. Its chemical composition includes triglycerides of oleic, stearic, palmitic, linoleic and linolenic fatty acids, phenols, tocopherols (vitamin E), triterpenes, and other substances that give shea butter a wide range of beauty benefits.
