  • Aleppo Hair & Body Soap is produced by the Russian beauty brand Planeta Organica. The product is based on an ancient Syrian recipe. It is formulated with organic olive oil, laurel oil and Damask rose oil.

    The recipe of thick Aleppo soap dates backs to the pre-Christian era. It is believed to have been used by queen Cleopatra of Egypt and queen Zenobia of the Palmyrene Empire (modern-day Syria). Its key ingredient is high-quality olive oil which provides a strong nourishing and moisturising effect and has softening and rejuvenating properties.

    Another traditional ingredient of Aleppo soap is laurel oil. It is laurel oil that distinguishes Aleppo soap from other olive oil-based soaps such as Castile soap or Marseille soap. Laurel oil has a delicate fragrance and an excellent antiseptic effect. It helps to stimulate skin regeneration and makes the hair stronger, thicker and shinier.

    Planeta Organica's Aleppo soap is enriched with Damask rose oil which gives it a light floral scent, helps to boost the mood, stimulates skin cell renewal, and normalises sebum secretion.

    Along with its key ingredients, the soap contains saffron crocus oil, myrtle oil, grape seed oil, and chamomile oil.

    Directions. Apply onto wet skin and hair, lather, massage, rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

    1. I always thought that Aleppo soap is supposed to be solid but this one is gel-like. At least it contains olive oil and bay laurel oil like Aleppo soap is supposed to. The smell is nice, rich and oriental although it smells more of rose than of laurel like I expected. The soap lathers really well and is excellent as a body wash. As a shampoo - not so good. The ends of my hair got dry when I washed them with this product. So I'll continue using it as a body wash but not to wash my hair.
