Ukrainian brand Aromatika presents argan oil. This is a 100% natural product extracted from the kernels of the argan tree that is endemic to Morocco. It usually has a golden colour and a pleasant nutty scent with a hint of spices. Moroccans traditionally use argan oil to treat skin diseases and as a cosmetic oil for skin and hair due to its healing and emollient properties.
Composition (useful substances). Like other vegetable oils, argan oil is composed mainly of fatty acids. It contains oleic acid (42%), linoleic acid (36%), palmitic acid (12%), stearic acid (6%), and a small amount of linolenic acid. Other compounds that can be found in argan oil include tocopherols (vitamin E), carotene (provitamin A), squalene, and phenols (caffeic acid, vanillic acid, oleuropein, tyrosol, catechol, resorcinol, and others).
Properties and application. Argan oil has a strong antioxidant effect. It neutralises free radicals, prevents premature skin ageing, improves skin elasticity, and smooths out fine lines. The oil also has regenerative, moisturising, toning, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Argan oil is perfect for taking care of dry, sensitive, and mature skin, but it is considered to be suitable for all skin types. It makes the skin softer, helps to keep it hydrated, relieves irritation, and protects the skin from harmful environmental factors, including UV rays. Argan oil can be used to take care of the delicate skin around the eyes, as well as to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.
The oil is also widely used as a hair care product due to its nourishing and moisturising properties. It penetrates deep into hair shafts and takes care of your hair from the inside. Argan oil intensively moisturises the hair, produces a conditioning effect, reduces hair loss and stimulates hair growth, prevents brittle hair and split ends, improves hair elasticity and flexibility, and helps to restore its natural shine.
Directions. Can be applied as is, mixed with other vegetable and/or essential oils or added to store-bought cosmetic products. Absorbs well without leaving the skin feeling sticky or greasy.
Ingredients. Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil.
