Jojoba oil is produced by the Ukrainian beauty brand Flora Secret. It is a 100% natural, high-quality product obtained from the seeds of the jojoba plant native to Mexico, southern California and southern Arizona. The oil is highly purified and can be used for skin and hair care.
Composition. Unlike most carrier oils, jojoba oil is composed almost entirely of mono-ester of fatty acids rather than tryglicerides. This composition makes it resistant to high temperatures and more shelf-stable.
Jojoba oil contains palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, oleic ecid, arachidic acid, 11-eicosenoic acid, behenic acid, erucic acid, lignoceric acid, and nervonic acid. It is high in monounsaturated fatty acids. The fatty acid content of the oil can vary depending on the climate and soil in which the plant is grown and other factors. Alongside fatty acids, jojoba oil contains vitamin E known for its strong antioxidant properties.
Properties and use. Jojoba oil has a nourishing and moisturising effect. It can be used to take care of the thin and delicate skin around the eyes. Jojoba oil soothes irritated skin, restores skin elasticity, helps to prevent premature skin ageing, relieves irritation and flaking, and softens even very rough skin. As for hair care, jojoba oil is perfect for dry and brittle hair. It repairs damaged hair structure and prevents split ends.
Directions. The oil can be applied as is or mixed with other carrier oils. It can be used to dilute essential oils or to enrich creams and other cosmetics.
