Ukrainian beauty brand Cocos presents its Glycolic Peel. This is an effective skincare product for deep cleansing and rejuvenation of mature skin. It affects several layers of the epidermis and has a pronounced anti-age effect.
The key active ingredient contained in the product is glycolic acid. Of all hydroxy acids (HAs) used in chemical peels, it has the smallest molecule size. Due to this, glycolic acid actively exfoliates dead cells from the skin surface (keratolytic effect), unclogs pores by dissolving excess sebum, and helps other active substances to penetrate deeper into the epidermis.
Glycolic Peel 20% (pH 3) by Cocos is designed for delicate exfoliation and cleansing of ageing skin. If you’ve never used chemical peels before, such concentration is perfect to start with. It has a superficial peeling effect and helps the skin to get used to hydroxy acids. Over time, you can switch to a higher concentration for a deep cleansing and rejuvenating effect.
The peel actively cleanses the skin and stimulates its renewal by exposing a layer of “young” skin cells. It makes the skin smoother, gives it a healthy glow, stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and collagen in the epidermis, helps to smooth out fine lines, combats pigmentation and other signs of ageing, regulates sebum secretion, prevents acne and acne scars.
Directions. Apply several drops of product to clean, dry skin with your fingertips, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave for several minutes, then apply chemical peel neutraliser and leave for 1 more minute. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Leave the peel for 1 minute during the first application, than add 1 minute during each subsequent procedure, but don’t leave the product on the skin longer than 15 minutes. Use once a week for 2 or 3 months (10–12 procedures).
A light tingling or burning sensation during the procedure is a normal reaction to chemical peel, as well as red skin or flaking within 1–2 days after peeling. However, if you experience severe burning or other unpleasant symptoms, you should consult a doctor. To prevent allergic reactions, do a patch test on a small area of the skin (for example, on your wrist or behind the ear) 24 hours before the first application.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation, shortly after tanning, or if you have couperose skin, herpes, bleeding disorders, diabetes mellitus. Do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin.
