  Bhringraj powder is obtained from the plant Eclipta erecta (Eclipta prostrata), also known as false daisy. It is a plant species in the sunflower family, growing in warm temperate to tropical areas across much of the world, particularly in India, Nepal, Thailand, China, and Brazil. Bhringraj has a number of traditional uses in Ayurveda, including hair care.

  In Ayurvedic medicine, bhringraj is often referred to as “the king of hair” because of its ability to repair even severely damaged hair structure. This herb nourishes and stimulates hair follicles, reduces hair loss and promotes hair growth, prevents premature grey hair, provides the scalp with minerals and other nutrients, improves hair elasticity and flexibility, gives the hair volume and healthy shine, and protects it from the environment.

  Directions. Mix 1 tsp powder with warm water to get a smooth paste. Apply to your skin or hair. Leave for 15–20 minutes, rinse with warm water. Apply skin toner and moisturiser.
  To make a bhringraj decoction, put 1 tbsp powder into 500 ml water, bring to a boil, let simmer for 3 minutes. Let steep for 3 to 5 hours, strain before use.
  To make a bhringraj infusion, pour 500 ml warm water over 1 tbsp bhringraj powder, leave overnight. Strain before use.
  You can use bhringraj decoction or infusion to wash or wipe your face, or as a hair rinse.
  Conduct sensitivity test before use. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water.

     I use this stuff for hair growth. It makes my hair super silky and conditioned. To condition my hair, I mix 1 tsp of bhringraj, 1 tsp of amla or brahimi, and 3 tsp of powdered hibistus petals, add 2 tsp of Dead Sea mud, 2 tsp of coconut oil, and 3-4 tbsp of whatever conditioner I use at the moment. Then I mix all the ingredients together and put on my har, put a shower cap and a scarf over it. In 1 hour, I wash my hair, apply conditioner, and wash again. The result is just amazing!
