Burdock oil is obtained by steeping burdock roots in vegetable oil, for example, olive, sunflower seed, sweet almond or peach kernel oil. The resulting cosmetic product is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, essential oils, tannins, inulin (a naturally occurring polysaccharide) and other biologically active substances.
Burdock oil is best known as a hair care product. It contains components that nourish hair follicles and stimulate their activity. If you rub burdock oil into your scalp and hair roots, it will help to reduce hair loss and stimulate hair growth, as well as combat dandruff and prevent dry, itchy and flaky scalp.
You can also apply burdock oil along the entire length of your hair, from root to tip, in order to prevent dehydration, brittle hair and split ends.
