Nourishing Shea Butter Body Lotion by Dr. Sante Natural Therapy is a body care product formulated with natural shea butter. The lotion has a nice silky texture and a light nutty smell; it takes good care of the skin, providing it with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.
Shea butter is extracted from the nut of the shea tree native to 21 countries of West and Central Afria. It has long been used in medicinal ointments, various skin and hair care products, and the famous African black soap due to its emollient properties.
The fatty acid composition of shea butter includes triglycerides of stearic, oleic, linoleic, palmitic, and linolenic fatty acids; it also contains tocopherols (vitamin E). Thanks to this, shea butter deeply nourishes the skin, makes it softer, reduces the harmful effects of UV exposure, helps to prevent stretch marks, maintains the skin’s firmness and elasticity, and prevents flaky, red and irritated skin.
In addition to shea butter, the lotion contains macadamia oil, squalene and 5% urea (carbamide). All three are powerful moisturising ingredients. Urea in particular is widely used in topical dermatological products to promote skin rehydration. It helps to draw moisture and lock it in the skin, transports other active ingredients to the deeper layers of the epidermis, and has a protective, softening and healing effect.
Shea Butter Body Lotion has a nice, light texture; it absorbs well and doesn’t make the skin feel sticky. The product’s nice, light smell helps to relax and boosts the mood.
Directions. Apply to clean, dry skin. Massage until absorbs.
