Ukrainian beauty brand Cocos presents its Mandelic Peel. This is an effective product for superficial chemical skin peeling suitable for at-home use. Perfect for normalising sebum secretion in oily skin and treating acne.
The key active ingredient contained in the product is mandelic acid. Due to its large molecule size, mandelic acid is less aggressive than most other acids used in chemical peels. Mandelic peels can be used even in summer, when the skin is especially vulnerable to UV radiation (however, you still need to use skincare products with SPF after peeling).
Mandelic Peel 10% (pH 3.5) by Cocos is designed for delicate exfoliation and cleansing of all skin types. However, it is best suited for oily and combination skin prone to breakouts. If you’ve never used chemical peels before, such concentration is perfect to start with.
The product has an antiseptic, antioxidant, keratolytic (exfoliating), comedolytic, whitening, and smoothing effect. It can be used to combat enlarged pores, acne, comedones (blackhead and whiteheads), acne scars, pigmentation (including age spots), dull complexion, and fine lines. The peel enhances skin elasticity and prevents sagging skin. It can also be suitable for people who are hypersensitive or allergic to other chemical peels.
Directions. Apply several drops of product to clean, dry skin with your fingertips, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave for several minutes, then apply chemical peel neutraliser and leave for 1 more minute. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Leave the peel for 1 minute during the first application, than add 1 minute during each subsequent procedure, but don’t leave the product on the skin longer than 15 minutes. Use once a week for 2 or 3 months (10–12 procedures).
A light tingling or burning sensation during the procedure is a normal reaction to chemical peel, as well as red skin or flaking within 1–2 days after peeling. However, if you experience severe burning or other unpleasant symptoms, you should consult a doctor. To prevent allergic reactions, do a patch test on a small area of the skin (for example, on your wrist or behind the ear) 24 hours before the first application.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation, shortly after tanning, or if you have couperose skin, herpes, bleeding disorders, diabetes mellitus. Do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin.
