Henna dye is derived from the plant Lawsonia inermis. The dried and powdered leaves of the plant have been used as a natural hair dye for centuries; the dye is also used for traditional body art called mehndi. As we’ve already mentioned above, pure henna stains the hair bright red. However, depending on the original hair colour and exposure time, henna can dye the hair a variety of shades, from golden to reddish brown.
Unlike chemical hair dyes, henna does not affect the natural pigment and structure of the hair. In addition to dyeing the hair and giving it shine, it helps to prevent dandruff and itching, nourishes hair follicles, strengthens the hair from root to tip, and restores its natural elasticity and volume.
Mayur’s red henna dye is a 100% natural product that contains no artificial pigments, ammonia, hydrogen or barium peroxide, p-Phenylenediamine (PPD), synthetic preservatives and fragrances.
Directions. Mix 1 part henna and 3 parts water to get a paste. Apply to dry hair and spread evenly from root to tip. Put on a shower cap and wrap your head in a towel. In 60 minutes or more, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Precautions. Before the first use, make sure to do a sensitivity test. Mix a small amount of powder with water and apply the mixture to the inside of your wrist or elbow. If no reaction occurs within 24 hours, the product is safe to use. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not use to dye your eyebrows or eyelashes.
