Rose water, which is made by steeping rose petals in water, has been used as a cosmetic product since ancient times. Rose petal powder has the same useful properties as rose water, but they are more pronounced because powder has a higher concentration of active substances.
When used as a skincare ingredient, rose powder slows down skin ageing, stimulates skin regeneration and renewal, relieves redness and irritation, speeds up the healing of minor skin injuries, and makes the skin softer and smoother. In addition, rose petals effectively protect the skin from harmful environmental factors, reduce the appearance of pores, normalise sebum secretion, and boost skin cell metabolism.
As a hair care ingredient, rose powder eliminates dandruff and reduces hair loss, repairs and strengthens damaged hair structure from root to tip, makes the hair silky soft and shiny, and gives it incredible volume.
Directions. Mix 1 tsp powder with warm water to get a smooth paste. Apply to your skin or hair. Leave for 15–20 minutes, rinse with warm water. Apply skin toner and moisturiser.
To make a rose decoction, put 1 tbsp powder into 500 ml water, bring to a boil, let simmer for 3 minutes. Let steep for 3 to 5 hours, strain before use.
To make a rose infusion, pour 500 ml warm water over 1 tbsp rose powder, leave overnight. Strain before use.
You can use rose decoction or infusion to wash or wipe your face, or as a hair rinse.
Conduct a sensitivity test before use. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Store in the fridge for 2–3 days maximum.
