Ayurvedic curry leaf powder produced by Triuga (Ukraine) is a 100% natural, effective product for regular skin and hair care. It is free of any additives and can be used to make various DIY cosmetic products. Suitable for all skin and hair types.
The curry tree, also known as the curry leaf tree, is native to India. Its leaves are widely used in Indian cuisine; in fact, curry is such a popular seasoning that a whole variety of dishes was named after it (interestingly enough, modern curries aren’t necessarily spiced with curry leaves). In addition, curry leaves are used in Ayurveda as a remedy for a range of ailments due to their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
When used as a skincare product, curry leaf powder helps to eliminate breakouts and relieve irritated skin, as well as to combat pigmentation. It unclogs pores and reduces their appearance, evens out skin tone and brightens complexion, has an exfoliating effect, controls oily shine, soothes the skin, and prevents acne.
As a hair care product, curry leaf powder stimulates microcirculation in the scalp, improving blood flow to hair follicles. It also has a detoxifying effect, stimulates hair growth, strengthens the hair from root to tip, makes it look healthy and glossy. Curry leaves also have a potent antioxidant effect; they help to prevent premature grey hair and hair loss.
Directions. Mix 1 tsp powder with warm water to get a smooth paste. Apply to your skin or hair. Leave for 15–20 minutes, rinse with warm water. Follow up with skin toner and moisturiser.
To make a curry leaf decoction, put 1 tbsp powder into 500 ml water, bring to a boil, let simmer for 3 minutes. Let steep for 3 to 5 hours, strain before use.
To make a curry leaf infusion, pour 500 ml warm water over 1 tbsp curry leaf powder, leave overnight. Strain before use.
You can use curry leaf decoction or infusion to wash or wipe your face, or as a hair rinse.
Conduct a sensitivity test before use. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Store in the fridge for 2–3 days maximum. Curry leaf powder can be combined with other Ayurvedic powders for a stronger effect.
