Ziziphus mauritiana is a plant in the buckthorn family native to Asia. Its fruit are rich in proteins, sugars and organic acids. As a hair care ingredient, jujube powder is valued for its regenerative effect on hair follicles. As a result, it reduces hair loss and promotes the growth of strong and healthy hair. In addition, it normalises sebum secretion in the scalp, improves hair structure from root to tip, eliminates dandruff, and makes the hair silky and shiny.
Directions. Mix 1 tsp powder with warm water to get a smooth paste. Apply to your skin or hair. Leave for 15–20 minutes, rinse with warm water. Apply skin toner and moisturiser.
To make a jujube decoction, put 1 tbsp powder into 500 ml water, bring to a boil, let simmer for 3 minutes. Let steep for 3 to 5 hours, strain before use.
To make a jujube infusion, pour 500 ml warm water over 1 tbsp jujube powder, leave overnight. Strain before use.
You can use jujube decoction or infusion to wash or wipe your face, or as a hair rinse.
Conduct a sensitivity test before use. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water. Store in the fridge for 2–3 days maximum.
