Shikakai Hair Powder is produced in India by Creative Research Labs for Lady Henna. This is a 100% natural herbal hair care product. It is formulated with ground fruit of the Indian shrub Acacia concinna known in India as shikakai. Due to the high content of saponins, which are natural foaming agents, shikakai fruit can be used as shampoo or soap. They gently cleanse the hair and provide a conditioning effect.
The word “shikakai” is loosely translated into English as “fruit for hair”. Shikakai fruit have been used for hair care since ancient times, they can be found in many Ayurvedic recipes. They have a wide range of useful properties. Shikakai fruit strengthen the hair, increase its volume, make combing easier, provide the hair with vitamins A, C, E, D, K. Regular use of shikakai fruit helps to cope with dandruff and reduce hair loss, keeps your hair fresh and clean.
Shikakai Hair Powder by Lady Henna contains a single ingredient – ground shikakai fruit. It is a 100% pure and natural Ayurvedic product suitable for all hair types. It can be used instead your regular shampoo and conditioner. The powder does not affect hair colour in any way. Some people even use it as a skincare product because it has moisturising properties, makes the skin smoother and prevents premature wrinkles.
Directions. In a non-metallic bowl, add hot water to powder. Mix to form a lump free, uniform mixture. Apply to wet hair and spread evenly. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
If you use henna to dye your hair, you can add some shikakai powder to obtain a deeper and darker hue. Mix shikakai powder with henna powder in a ratio of 1 to 3, add hot water, mix to form a lump free, uniform mixture. Apply to hair, leave for 1 hour, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
